Maliek van Laar, President

Maliek has a wealth of experience having more than 20 years of project management experience having worked with Federal government agencies, international associations, and corporations across the US and abroad. In her experience, Maliek has worn many hats performing as the Operations Manager for multiple international associations, including, itSMF USA, Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization, and Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition. She has led multiple corporate rebranding efforts, change management initiatives and agile software development projects. She has proven to be a versatile and engaged leader.

Maliek proactively engages with stakeholders and senior leadership in identifying requirements and planning to ensure that projects are executed on schedule and within budget and scope. Maliek is big on communications. As she works diligently to ensure that the client, stakeholders, members, and team are properly informed throughout the project lifecycle. Maliek has led multiple teams simultaneously onsite and remotely.

Maliek is a Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) a designation managed by the Events Industry Council and a Project Management Professional (PMP), a designation accredited by the Project Management Institute, Inc. Maliek has successfully earned a Certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University.

Maliek is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
